When 12-year-old Stephanie Crowe is brutally murdered at her house in her small home town in January, 1998, the authorities foolishly jump to conclusions that her 14-year-old brother, Michael Crowe (Mark Rendall) must be responsible.
This movie is based on a true story. 'The Interrogation of Michael Crowe' is a must-watch; it truly raises some serious questions about the American justice system. That the police were able and willing to lie about facts and create evidence in order to get a so called 'confession' from a juvenile almost leaves the viewer in total disbelief at what they are seeing!
Michael's lawyer states in the movie that fortunately the confession was videotaped by police and appeared to be coerced, with Michael even stating to the detectives 'I'm only saying this because it's what you want to hear'

Court TV won the 2003 Peabody Award for 'The Interrogation of Michael Crowe' and the film is dedicated to the memory of Stephanie Anne Crowe. Thirteen-year-old Mark Rendall was nominated for a 2004 ACTRA Toronto Award - Outstanding Performance - Male - for his role as Michael Crowe.
The cbsnews.com website quotes the real life Michael Crowe as saying 'Justice for me would be admissions and apologies from the people who tortured me and broke my life, just because they could.'
